On June 15, 2026, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took a very important step to make sure every vote counts equally in the newly merged tribal districts.

What is Delimitation? Delimitation is the process of drawing lines on a map to create voting areas, called constituencies. The goal is to make sure each area has roughly the same number of people, so every elected leader represents a similar amount of citizens.

Why Are They Redrawing the Map? Several years ago, the tribal areas (FATA) joined the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Since then, the population has changed, and some areas have grown much larger than others. The ECP is updating the maps to fix this imbalance.

What This Means for the People: By creating fair and equal voting districts, the people in these former tribal areas will get proper representation in the local government. This ensures their specific needs, like schools and water, are heard and addressed by their elected leaders.
