ISLAMABAD: In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, Pakistan and Bulgaria fortified their diplomatic rapport on Tuesday, convening the sixth round of Bilateral Political Consultations in the federal capital, marking a salient milestone in their mutual engagement spanning over six decades.

The contingent from Pakistan was spearheaded by Ambassador Ayesha Ali, Additional Secretary (Europe) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Bulgarian delegation was helmed by His Excellency Ambassador Petko Doykov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

During the deliberations, both sides scrutinized the comprehensivespectrum of bilateral relations and exploredmodalities to augment cooperation across domains of mutual interest, encompassing political engagement, trade and economic relations, defense cooperation, cultural exchanges, educational partnerships, and grassroots people-to-people contacts.

The interlocutors also exchangedperspectives on regional and international developments, while deliberating on enhanced cooperation at multilateral forums.

Strategic Consensus: In a testament to their shared commitment, both nations concurred to convene the subsequent round of consultations in Sofia, Bulgaria, at mutually agreed dates, thereby perpetuating the continuum of diplomatic dialogue.

The consultations were held in an atmosphere of camaraderie and constructiveness, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to sustained engagement and enhanced bilateral cooperation.
