On Monday, June 16, 2026, Pakistan reached a wonderful and historic goal: zero new cases of polio this year.

What is Polio? Polio is a sickness caused by a tiny virus that can make people, especially children, unable to walk or move their legs. For many years, it was a big problem in our country.

How Did We Stop It? The government and health workers worked very hard. They went to every single house, even in the most remote villages, to give children the special polio drops. These drops act like a shield inside the body, stopping the virus from making anyone sick.

Why This is a Big Deal: Reaching zero cases means our children are safe. It also shows the world that Pakistan's healthcare system is strong and capable of protecting its most vulnerable citizens from dangerous diseases.
